Irish Wolfhounds are a gentle breed, they are very large but don't intrude on your space. They need a lot of love and attention, and will be excellent friends and companions

The life span is not very good however as the boys tend to only live to around 7 years of age and the girls can live to about 10, but this is a very healthy hound. I have heard of one getting to the age of 13 but this is an exception.

Size Boys tend to be around 35" to the shoulder

Girls 33" this is an average and can vary greatly
